Induction for January 2010
1.
Registration Week for existing and new students Date:
25/01/10 – 5/02/10
This is for
new students enrolling in the college from the January 2010 intake
and for any existing students whose enrolment is expired
2.
Final Registration Week for new students
Date:
8/02/10 – 12/02/10
This is the
last week for all new students from the January 2010 intake to
register with their respective courses before beginning the
semester.
3.
Workshops
Date: 26/01/10 – 27/01/10
This is for students enrolled in Sept 09 who arrived late and missed
the course induction week. It is also for all Pre session English
students who are transferring to various IT and Business courses.
The workshops are conducted to provide students with valuable
information related to their welfare during their stay in the UK.
Information on TFL application processing, visa extension
guidelines, procedures for obtaining various letters are some of the
areas that will be discussed. Please refer to the notice board and
intranet for detailed course-wise breakdown of dates and times
during these 2 days.
4.
Induction
Date: 01/02/10, 08/02/10
The course
induction for Pre-session Students who joined in September 09 will
be conducted during the week beginning 1st Feb until the 5th February,
2010. The induction timetable will be displayed on the notice
boards and the intranet.
Course
Induction for all new Students joining from January 2010 will be
conducted during the week
beginning 8th February until the 12th
February, 2010. Please refer to the college notice board and the
intranet for a detailed timetable.
5.
Dissertation Support
Date: 02/02/10 – 03/02/10
This is a 2
day classroom session that will provide students with valuable
information about writing a Masters/Postgraduate level dissertation.
These sessions are for all MBA, BBA, PGD (NCC) and BCS (Professional
graduate Diploma level) students who enrolled in September 2009. Any
other students from the latter courses who wish to attend are also
welcome.
Formal Teaching and Tutorial Sessions will commence from 15/02/10.
Easter holidays will be for 2 weeks only commencing from 29/03/2010
-09/04/2010.
Final Timetable will be available on 5th February.

General Induction has been segregated between Business and IT
Programme. Also programme-wise induction will follow from the next day as scheduled below.

More Expansion – extra resources and facilities are added to the
College portfolio.
As MGC is known as rapidly-developing College, the College
recently announced the acquisition of additional 6000 sq ft space in
its recent attempt to expand the College and its facilities. The
expansion will facilitate students with additional resources
including a brand new library, a learning resource centre, and
upgraded state-of-the art computer laboratory. The additional five
classrooms and a lecture theatre are also added to the College
portfolio. The College management, faculty, staff and students are
very excited on this improvement.

Spring 2009 Semester- Student Orientation:
A generic orientation for new students is scheduled for 26th
of January 2009 at lecturer theatre (IBC-108). The orientation will
begin at 11:00 AM and expected to run for two hours. There will be
programme-wise orientation during this induction week. The full
schedule for the programme-wise orientation will be distributed on
26th of January 2009 during generic orientation.

MGC is awarded A-Rated Sponsors Licence.
Maritime Greenwich College is awarded “A-Rating” Licence
(Tier 4) by UK Border Agency under new Points-Based System. From the
end of March 2009, students applying to come to the UK will be
assessed under the new points system. The students are required to
submit a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letter
together with their student application and the CAS can only be
issued by an organisation that exists in UK Border Agency’s Register
of Sponsors.

MGC students win Top-Prize award.
Maritime Greenwich College is committed to providing quality
education and the students’ results in their end of year
examinations are the true reflection of this. Two of the College
students scored highest marks in a module world-wide in their June
2008 examinations. Ms Manju Pandey is a Medal winner in IMIS
examinations and Mr Rajkumar Shrestha is awarded Top-Prize award
from ABE.

Induction for new batch starting June 2007.
Induction for a new batch starting June
2007 will be held on June 11th, Monday at Room IBC-108, Business
School. Please note the week starting 11th will be an induction and
registration week and there will be no lecture running during this
period. Please contact Admission & Administration Department for

Induction for new batch starting Sept 2006.
Induction for a new batch starting Sept
2006 will be held on Sept 18th, Monday at Woolwich campus. Please
note that week starting 18th Monday will be the induction week and
there will be no lecture running. Students can come and collect time
table and other course information from the existing Woolwich
campus.
Existing Deptford IT Campus and Administration department will be
moving to the new building in Woolwich. Address of the new building

We are proud to announce the opening
of our new campus at Woolwich in June 2005. This campus is being
fitted with the state of art lab facilities, Intranet and class
rooms. The campus is two minutes walk away from the Woolwich Arsenal
Station.

MGC Student Gets Gold Medal from IMIS
Maritime Greenwich College's student
Mr N Gauchan has won a gold medal scoring highest mark in the IMIS
June 2004 exam competing over 14,000 members over 70 countries.

Maritime Greenwich College's representatives are visiting many
countries in Asia including Singapore, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh,
Sri Lanka & Nepal for special seminars in July & August 2004. These
seminars are free for all prospective students.
