This programme is for you if you want to learn how to
develop systems that can grow to meet new and changing needs in
modern business environments and in arts, media and cultural
applications. It also provides a route to a variety of higher
degrees in the computing and information systems sector.
The programme aims to give you a wide appreciation of the
subject, rather than just an understanding of existing commercial
approaches, so that your knowledge can evolve and adapt to meet
contemporary needs. You will develop skills in:

Registering as an external student with UOL and for the examination
is entirely separate from enrolment on MGC courses.
You should visit college and
relevant university websites for up-to-date information. The student
must seek and obtain a certificate of eligibility from the
university before obtaining an unconditional offer letter from MGC
and pay the application, registration, exam, exemption (if any) and
other fees to the university directly.
Registration and Examination fees
Independent study demands that you are motivated, well-organised and
focused. We advise that to complete in the minimum study period you
will need devote at least 250 hours of study to each full course
unit.
The
total fee payable to the University is

(includes non-refundable application handling fee of
£56)
if you complete in the minimum study period.
Besides the fees payable to the
University and the College, you should also budget for textbooks
(this may well be in the region of £300 per year).

Applicants who did not have English as
the formal language of instruction are expected to demonstrate a
reasonable command of the language by taking a TOEFL or an IELTS
test (for a TOEFL a score of 580 (or 237 on the computerised test)
plus
the Test of Written
English (TWE) with a score of 4.5 (or a Writing Rating of 4.5 in the
computerised test); for an IELTS test an overall score of at least 6
is achieved with a minimum of 5.5 in each sub-test). Applicants who
don't have TOEFL or IELTS can undertake an intensive Pre-course
English Language or EFL at College.
