Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management

We are pleased to introduce ABE Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management, accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) to level 7 on the National Qualification Framework (NQF). The qualification provides a top-up route for students to gain advanced entry to a Masters degree at UK universities.

The ABE Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management has been developed, utilising current academic learning and research as well as employer knowledge and practice. It is therefore an ideal progression route for those who:

are currently studying professional qualifications and wish to proceed to a Masters degree in business/management

bullet

have a related degree but wish to proceed to a Masters level business/management qualification

bullet

are in employment, at managerial level, and wish to achieve a Masters level qualification

At a time when global economies are in difficulties, the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management represents an excellent, cost-effective opportunity to demonstrate talent and ability.

Duration

Mode: Full-Time – 1 Year, 15-21 hrs a week

Commencement: September, January and July of every academic year

UK Residing Students                       £3900.00

Registration/subscription/examination fees

A student newly registering with ABE to enter this programme: £250

Students with an existing registration with ABE: no registration fee payable

bullet

Annual subscription: £30 (if the programme takes more than 1 year to complete)

Exam entry fee: £150 per subject (UK & EU)

Structure and Syllabus

The Postgraduate Diploma is QCA accredited at level 7 and comprises five units:

Strategic Business Management and Planning

bullet

Organisational Resource Management

bullet

Management of Financial Resources and Performance

bullet

Leadership and Change Management

bullet

Corporate Management in Action (integrative case study assessment)

Assessment

Each unit requires two pieces of assessed work:

bullet

an examination (marked externally by ABE); and

bullet

an assignment (marked internally by the college and scrutinised by ABE)

To pass the unit requires a pass mark of 40% or above in both pieces of assessed work.

The examination scripts are marked externally by ABE. The assignment is marked by the college using marking criteria provided by ABE. Assignments can only be marked and submitted by an approved college, therefore all ABE students must make check that their college is accredited to offer the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management and make all necessary arrangements prior to registering with ABE and embarking on the course.
Re-sits of any assessment that is not passed will be permitted.

Entry Criteria

A student must fulfill at least one of the following criteria to be allowed entry to the programme:

Possession of the ABE’s Advanced Diploma in Business Management or Business Administration (note that a student may progress to the Postgraduate Diploma if he/she has one unit of the Advanced Diploma yet to be passed, but cannot be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma until subsequently passing the remaining Advanced Diploma unit)

bullet

Possession of an ABE Advanced Diploma in another subject (subject to further study requirements)

bullet

Possession of an honours degree in a related subject

bullet

Possession of a level 6 qualification from another internationally recognised awarding body

bullet

Five years senior management experience
