Maritime Greenwich College (MGC) has an
"Articulation Agreement" with London Metropolitan University that
allows MGC Diploma holders to join the University to obtain full
bachelor honours degree in Business Computing. On successful
completion of the Diploma in IT with good pass, students will then
obtain credits to proceed to the final phase of the BSc (Hons) in
Business Computing Degree with London Metropolitan University at the
City campus in London.
The aim of the course is to prepare students
for careers in business as IT professionals. The modules encompass
the social and ethical aspects of IT, as well as technical issues,
in order to furnish graduates with an understanding of the needs of
end users and business organisations, ensuring graduates have the
technical skills to meet those requirements. The course will
therefore provide the pathways to continue study on London Met BSc (Hons)
final year Business Computing top-up programme or extremely
successful and rewarding careers such as IT professionals, systems
developers, and software developers.
Students gain two qualifications at the end of this programme,
Diploma in IT from MGC and a BSc (Hons) in Business Computing degree
from London Metropolitan University.
Duration of Programme
The DIT is offered on a full-time basis. The full time programme is
two semesters each year over two years. The course can be completed
within three semesters in an accelerated mode.

Entry Requirements
Candidates for entry will normally be expected to have a successful
completion of twelve years of education and reasonable command of
written and spoken English is required for this course. UK ‘A’
Levels or equivalent or MGC International Foundation Programme is
also acceptable.
Mature student applicants and those with relevant
professional and vocational qualifications, and these will be dealt
with on an individual basis and may require an interview.
In the case of applicants whose mother tongue is
not English, then IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) is required. Students
who do not meet the IELTS requirement should join Intensive
Pre-courses English Language before joining the course.
